The Society maintains a library in the Sackler Library, containing books on the architecture and local history of the county many of which are not easily accessible elsewhere. All members are welcome to use the library.

There is a card index of books and a printed list which, for security reSackler Libraryasons, is only available to visitors to the library. To use the library, members should show their programme cards at the library entrance. The staff have a list of members and may ask for identification. Non members who wish to use the library should contact the secretary.

The main categories of the books reflect the particular interest of members of the original Gothic Society - the predecessor of today's OAHS - in history and ecclesiastical architecture. The 20th century books focus more on Oxford city, county and university. Many of the later additions are gifts and review copies received by the editor of Oxoniensia. There are over 2000 volumes some dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

The library is available on Tuesdays to Fridays from 9am to 10pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.

The society also has a collection of plaster casts, now in the County Museum. The society's own archives are in the Bodleian Library.
