2011 Excursions

This year's programme of six excursions is in many ways quite different from past programmes, and so for the benefit of those who have taken part in previous years, we start with some explanations. New members can skip ahead to the programme details.

1. This could be described as a programme of walking lectures rather than excursions as we used to organise them. For each day there is a specialist guide, and where possible we start with some preliminaries indoors before starting the tour.

2. There won't be any organised transport - participants make their own way there and back. Where possible there will be organised tea.

3. All excursions are limited to 20 participants.

4. The old one per month formula has not been adhered to strictly. Noone seems to want excursions in August, and we decided it's better to carry on the excursion programme later in the year when the weather is usually not too bad. So the last excursion will be at the end of October. Blame global warming if you will.

5. All excursions cost £10, which will include a simple tea where we can arrange it.

6. Members are asked to book online. Online booking does not entail online payment, the system allows you to either pay by Paypal or send a cheque. Full details of excursions are on the website, and participants will receive email reminders of excursions. All inquiries about excursions should be sent by email to .

All excursions start at 2p.m. unless otherwise stated.
